The Indian Council of Imams (ICI) has called for strict action against Yati Narsingh anand, a controversial Hindu priest, for his inflammatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad.
This follows the filing of an FIR by the Hyderabad Police after a complaint by AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi has urged the authorities to revoke Narsinghanand’s bail, which had earlier been granted under the condition that he refrain from making further hate speeches.
The inflammatory comments were made during a public event, sparking protests from various Muslim groups across the country.
This isn't the first time Narsingh anand has faced legal issues for his controversial statements, having been arrested previously for similar offenses.
The case has now been escalated to the cybercrime division to ensure the removal of the offensive content from social media platforms.
